Explore fun, hands-on programs that help kids build, create, read, and discover new interests. Whenever we come across new kid-friendly events, workshops, or programs, we’ll keep adding them here throughout the year—so feel free to check back often.

1. Home Depot Free Kids Workshop

This Month’s Project: Farm Planter

A hands-on building experience where kids use real tools to create a new project each month—then take home something they built themselves.

Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. (while supplies last)

2. Lowe’s Build & Grow

Current Project: Lawn Mower

A creative monthly workshop where kids build themed projects, practice problem-solving, and explore hands-on learning in a fun, guided environment.

Date: Saturday, March 21, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

3. KCLS Summer Reading Program

How it works: Read daily, track minutes, and earn rewards Themes and prize details vary each summer.

A summer-long reading challenge that encourages kids to read daily, explore new stories, and build strong reading habits—while earning fun rewards along the way.

Dates: Mid-June through late August (dates vary each year)
Goal: Read at least 20 minutes per day
