Activities
Explore fun, hands-on programs that help kids build, create, read, and discover new interests. Whenever we come across new kid-friendly events, workshops, or programs, we’ll keep adding them here throughout the year—so feel free to check back often.
Many build-and-take events are store-specific. When registering, be sure to select your nearest location and double-check the date and time.
Current Activities
1. Home Depot Free Kids Workshop
A hands-on building experience where kids use real tools to create a new project each month—then take home something they built themselves.
2. Lowe’s Build & Grow
A creative monthly workshop where kids build themed projects, practice problem-solving, and explore hands-on learning in a fun, guided environment.
3. KCLS Summer Reading Program
A summer-long reading challenge that encourages kids to read daily, explore new stories, and build strong reading habits—while earning fun rewards along the way.
If you know of a kid-friendly activity, event, workshop, reading program, or hands-on experience that would be helpful for elementary students, we’d love to hear about it.
Please email us at [email protected] with the activity name, age or grade range, location (or online), and website (if available). We’ll review it and do our best to add it to this page for other families.
