Your Math Competition Preparation Path

Learn the Concepts Move One Grade Ahead Practice with Books Strengthen Foundations Solve Past Papers Take Timed Tests Review and Repeat

  1. Master Grade-Level Math Concepts

Build a strong foundation in your child's current grade, including arithmetic, number sense, patterns, and word problems.

  2. Advance One Grade Level

Once current-grade concepts are strong, gradually learn one grade above. Focus on understanding, not rushing ahead.

  3. Practice with Competition Books

Choose elementary or middle school competition books suited to your child's grade, skill level, and target contest. Explore different problem types and gradually increase difficulty.

  4. Strengthen Middle School Math Foundations

If your child is preparing for MATHCOUNTS or AMC 8, make sure they are comfortable with core Grades 6–8 math concepts. Younger students can build toward these topics over time.

  5. Solve Competition Problems and Past Papers

Practice problems from your target contest, such as Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, Noetic Learning Math Contest, MATHCOUNTS, or AMC 8. Identify weak areas and revisit concepts that need improvement.

  6. Take Timed Practice Tests

Once you are comfortable solving problems, practice under timed conditions to improve speed, accuracy, and time management.

  7. Review, Improve, and Repeat

Analyze mistakes, understand the correct approach, revisit difficult topics, and solve similar problems. Consistent practice is the key to progress.
